$1m prize for an American Inventor

I’m on the biggest search for America’s best new invention, filming a new series of American Inventor for the US network ABC.
American Inventor

My fellow judges and I are looking for an outstanding inventor who’s worthy of winning a $1 million prize.

And during this nationwide search, we have a new judge joining the team – former boxing champion and fellow entrepreneur George Foreman.

George is a terrific inspiration to us all and has brought his unique charm and energy to the production.

Aside from George being a two-time World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, he’s of course also famous for his “George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine”.

In a grueling schedule, we’ve visited various cities around the US, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Orlando and Houston.

We’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly – but most of all that great American spirit of ingenuity and innovation.

Our nationwide search to discover the next big thing in new devices will make one struggling inventor’s dream come true with a grand prize of $1 million and the opportunity to market their product worldwide.

Auditions have been open to both individuals and teams, and contestants have needed only enter with a sketch, a prototype, or even a simple concept.

The key rule is simple enough: their invention must be something that can be mass produced and sold to consumers in a retail outlet.

Each week during the first six episodes, we’re awarding one winner with a $50,000 investment to develop and refine their product for the semi-final round.

In the end, it will be up to the American public to call in and place their votes for the invention they feel is worthy of the coveted grand prize.

We’re building on the success of the first season of American Inventor, which saw Janusz Liberkowski, a Polish immigrant inventor from Los Gatos, California, win with his specially designed infant car seat.

The show goes on air on June 6 on ABC. It’s being made  in conjunction with FremantleMedia North America, Simon Cowell’s Syco Television and my own company, Peter Jones TV Ltd.
