BT Business EntreprenuerBT’s Essence of the Entrepreneur - Wednesday 27th January 5.30pm - Oxo Tower Wharf, London.
BT’s Essence of the Entrepreneur is a competition to find entrepreneurs who have used technology to help grow their business. 
There were 20 finalists at the event and winners in 5 separate categories:

  • Best young entrepreneur
  • Best male
  • Best female
  • Original business concept
  • Overall winner of outstanding entrepreneur (wins £10k business grant).

Peter joined Mick Hegarty (BT Business) to officially launch the event and announce winners.

The winner of the Outstanding Entrepreneur Award and a £10,000 cheque was Robert Matthams from – the UK’s online transport marketplace.

Winner of Best Male: Mitesh Soma for developing Chemist Direct – a company that supplies over 20,000 products at the lowest possible prices, and also process prescriptions.

Winner of Best Female: Sara Murray, founder of buddi – the world’s smallest assisted GPS personal tracker with emergency support.

Winner of Original Business Concept: Sam Bompass and Harry Parr for Bompass and Parr – a fine English jelly that designs bespoke jelly moulds and curate spectacular culinary events.

Winner of Best Young Entrepreneur: Daniel Ox from Fruit for the Office who transformed his family’s traditional fruit and veg stall into a thriving online business and became the first company in the UK to offer specialised fruit and veg delivery service to the office.
