Search for a Tycoon narrows

I'm a few steps closer to finding the next UK's next Tycoon.point

Over recent months, I've received thousands of entries to my new ITV1 show, after I encouraged people to pitch a new business idea to me.

It's been a race against time as my production team and I have worked flat out to get to this stage - but what an exciting time it's been!

My search has taken me on tour to events around the UK as well as involving appearances on TV, radio and the press.

I'm hugely grateful to everyone who took the time and trouble to send me their idea and record an accompanying video.

Over recent days, I've been meeting 80 of the people whose pitches impressed me the most at three days of auditions in London.

It was a fantastic experience hearing what they had to say: some good, some bad, and some frankly amazing things.

I'm now drawing up a long-list of people I think have what it takes and am considering who should appear on the show.

In the meantime, I'm also flying out to Los Angeles to film the next series of my other show, American Inventor. It'll be shown on ABC in the US this summer.

When I get back to the UK, there'll be no pause for breath as I get straight to work on nurturing my budding Tycoons.
