Drone Safe Register
The demand for aerial photography is increasing rapidly whether it’s estate agents selling property, building inspectors checking an inaccessible roof or wedding planners looking for an original group photograph. Pilot controlled drones with mounted cameras offer this service but clients need to know that the pilot they commission is qualified, professional and operates in accordance with UK/ROI drone laws.
Drone Safe Register founded by Mark Boyt solves the problem by providing a searchable national database containing the contact details and profiles of CAA approved and insured drone pilots who are available for hire. Clients just enter their postcode and then they can select from a list of locally based pilots who are qualified to handle the work.
All registered drones and pilots are marked with ID cards and branded lanyards to reassure the public they are part of a membership organisation and flying safely within the law. There is also a private group forum for members to support each other, offer advice and share best practice.
For amateur flyers, DSR is the first national register whatsoever. As well as access to crucial flight planning information, training and industry updates, members receive ID card and stickers printed with their photo and the current CAA safety code to help identify their drone in case of loss and reassure the public they are part of a membership organisation and enjoying their hobby legally and responsibly.
